What to Expect Through Your SMILE® Journey
Before:
- We meet with you, check your eyes, and talk through your options.
- You'll stop wearing contact lenses a few days before surgery.
- On surgery day, avoid makeup, lotions, and perfume.
Day of Surgery:
- Meet with your surgeon for a final check
- Return 30 minutes before your procedure
- The procedure itself is quick and gentle
- Expect to rest afterwards, eyes mostly closed, vision on the way to clear
After:
- You’ll wear a protective shield that night
- Eye drops support your healing
- You’ll return the next morning for a follow-up
- Most people are back to work in 2–3 days
