What to Expect Through Your SMILE® Journey

Before:

  • We meet with you, check your eyes, and talk through your options.
  • You'll stop wearing contact lenses a few days before surgery.
  • On surgery day, avoid makeup, lotions, and perfume.

Day of Surgery:

  • Meet with your surgeon for a final check
  • Return 30 minutes before your procedure
  • The procedure itself is quick and gentle
  • Expect to rest afterwards, eyes mostly closed, vision on the way to clear

After:

  • You’ll wear a protective shield that night
  • Eye drops support your healing
  • You’ll return the next morning for a follow-up
  • Most people are back to work in 2–3 days

Is there an age limit for SMILE® laser eye surgery?
Most adults over 20 with stable vision and healthy eyes are suitable candidates.

Can both eyes be treated at once?

We provide accommodation the night of your surgery, to make it easy for you to attend your first post-op appointment the next day and depending on how far you are travelling from we can provide accommodation the night before your SMILE® procedure, so you can arrive relaxed and well-rested
